Community Preservation/Code Compliance

The Community Preservation Code Compliance Officers conduct both proactive and reactive inspections of property to insure compliance with these standards.  It is the goal of the Community Preservation Division to direct your attention to any existing code violations, which could have a negative impact on your property, neighborhood and the City of Perris as a whole.

To Report A Concern

There are five ways to report a concern.

  1. Report a violation online.
  2. Complete the online Complaint Form.
  3. Call Code Compliance directly at (951) 385-413.
  4. Send a letter or an inspection request form to our office explaining the problem, or
  5. Visit us in person and talk to our Code Compliance staff.

When reporting a concern, please be prepared to give the address of the subject location. This information is important for processing your complaint without delay. It also allows us to search for current enforcement action, violation history and property ownership prior to investigation.

Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program (AVA)

Did you know that it is illegal to accumulate or store abandoned, wrecked or inoperative vehicles or vehicle parts outside your residence in public view? To assist you, the City of Perris will TOW any unwanted vehicles at NO COST TO YOU. No proof of ownership or current registration is required. For more information, see the Guide To Property Maintenance Regulations.

Just file out a Tow Authorization Form and send it via mail or drop it off at our Development Services Department. 

Yard Sale Permits

To legally hold a yard sale in the City of Perris, you need to purchase a Yard Sale permit. To learn more about the city code governing yard sales, see Perris Municipal Code Chapter 5.3. If you hold a yard sale without a permit, you can be cited for a code violation.

Yard Sale permits are for residents within the City limits of Perris only. County residents do not need a permit.

You can obtain a yard sale permit at Perris City Hall during normal office hours
(Monday -Thursday  8 am – 6 pm)

To purchase a yard sale permit...
You will need a valid Drivers License or Identification card. If the address on your Drivers License or Identification card is not current, you will also need to bring proof of current address (ex: utility bill) that has your name.

The cost of the permit is $7.50 and we accept cash, debit, Visa, and Master card.
