Call Perris’ upcoming community cleanup day on April 25 the “big toss.”

It’s the chance for City residents to dispose of garbage, green waste, furniture debris, cement, wood, bed frames, box springs and scrap metal. All for free.

The annual City of Perris Cleanup Day represents the ultimate opportunity in Spring Cleaning. A similar program last year resulted in the collection of 125 tons of trash.

The City is teaming with its waste hauler, C R & R for the big clean up.

Residents can drop off their trash at the C R & R location on Goetz Road, just south of Ellis, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. As an added incentive, the City is also offering free wood chips and composting to residents. Those gardening aids will be available at the City’s old police station at 403 East Fourth Street.

The clean up does not include potentially harmful materials. Items like infectious waste, explosives, paints, cleaners, computers, radioactive waste, solvents, televisions and tires will not be accepted.

Free dumping is limited to City of Perris residents only. A City flyer sent to Perris residents and photo identification or other proof of City residence is required at the time of dumping.
