Excitement is building as the City of Perris gears up for its fourth annual health fair on April 23.
Highlights of the health fair include screenings for skin cancer, diabetes, cholesterol and high-blood pressure, lots of giveaways including bicycles and tickets to local recreational events, fitness demonstrations and kids’ obstacle course, educational materials and healthy food vendors.
The health fair continues the City’s ongoing Live Well Perris healthy eating active living campaign which has garnered national, state and regional awards.
Once again, the City health fair coincides with two other major events taking place on the City Hall Campus, 101 North D Street, on April 23.
The day kicks early, with registration for the Perris Elementary School District’s Seventh Annual 5-K “Fun Run” beginning at 7 a.m.
The fun run begins at 8:30 a.m. and more than 1,000 participants are expected to take off for the jaunt through Downtown Perris. Mayor Daryl Busch and other elected officials and dignitaries are expected to welcome the runners.
At 9 a.m., the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life begins and continues for 24 hours. Survivors, supporters and the public will walk laps around Foss Field Park until 9 a.m. April 24 to raise money for cancer research and a cure.
The health fair opens at 10 a.m. and runs to 2 p.m. Come join the City of Perris for a fun and informative day.
