The City of Perris has one (1) open seat on the Planning Commission.
Residents with a strong desire and willingness to serve the community are encouraged to apply. The Planning Commissioner Application form is available on the City’s website at www.cityofperris.org or can be obtained from City Hall located at 101 North D Street in Perris.
Completed applications must be submitted to the Office of Human Resources at City Hall by Thursday, May 4, 2017 before 6 p.m.
Appointment to the current vacancy will be made by the Mayor and ratified by the City Council. The City has the right to invite only the most qualified applicants to participate in the selection process. The City of Perris Planning Commission is committed to promoting a high quality of life in the community through responsible land use decisions. The commission takes pride in preserving the City’s heritage and ensuring sustainable development for future generations. The Planning Commission plays important advisory, regulatory, and procedural roles in land use decisions for the City of Perris. The Commission is responsible for the review of issues related to community growth and development, and approval of land development requests such as
Development Plan Reviews, Conditional Use Permits, and Major Modifications. The Commission
administers land use regulations and provides the City Council with recommendations on matters
relating to the implementation of the City General Plan, zoning, subdivision and municipal policies.
The Planning Commission consists of seven (7) members, appointed by the City Council for a term of four (4) years each. The term for the current seat expires in December 2019. The compensation for Planning Commissioners is established as a stipend of one hundred ($100) dollars per meeting. The Commission meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Perris City Council Chambers.
