The City of Perris kicks off its 2018 Summer Aquatics Program June 11 at the community swimming pool at Perris High School, 175 East Nuevo Road.
Highlights of the program include swimming lessons for youngsters from six months to 12 years of age and open swimming times for kids and adults six days a week.
Recreation Supervisor Cynthia Mendez said the City is pleased to provide swimming every Monday through Saturday through Aug. 4.
“It’s a hugely popular program and we expect large and enthusiastic crowds,” Mendez said. “We’re encouraging everyone to come on in, join the fun, take a dip and participate in swimming lessons. Swimming is such a vital skill to learn and we’re happy to be able to teach it.”
Swimming lessons will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Mendez said she expects 1,000 youngsters to participate in one or more of the four 2-week sessions the City is offering. Cost for each session is $25 for individuals and $50 for families.
