Traffic
The Traffic Unit is a specialized unit within the Field Operations Division.
The unit is comprised of one sergeant, four motor officers, two accident investigation cars, a commercial vehicle enforcement officer and two community service officers. The Traffic Unit’s primary responsibility to the community is the enforcement of state and municipal traffic ordinances within the city. Additionally, the unit handles traffic collision investigations, traffic control, parking enforcement, and special event details
The Perris Police Department provides traffic services for the City of Perris.
The traffic sergeant supervises traffic team operations, as well as coordinates special events. Our motorcycle officers conduct traffic enforcement and assist with traffic control and special operations. They typically do not conduct traffic collision investigations.
Our traffic deputies and community service officers conduct traffic collision investigations. In addition, they coordinate as a team to assist with traffic control, special functions, and conduct vehicle and city code violations within the city of Perris.
Our commercial vehicle enforcement officer enforces traffic laws as they pertain to commercial vehicles, and he assists with investigating traffic collisions, traffic control and special events.
We have provided some answers to frequently asked questions of our station staff regarding traffic related issues.
